Rockland County Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, who is running for re-election in the upcoming midterm elections, visited the Ohel today ahead of Election Day.

Lawler came together with Chabad shluchim from across his district and spent several minutes davening at the Rebbe's resting place.

"Visiting the Rebbe's Ohel is always a deeply meaningful experience," Lawler said. "Today was an opportunity to offer prayers for our families, communities, and country, and express gratitude for our many blessings."

Lawler, 40, grew up in Suffern and represents New York's 17th Congressional District. The district covers all or parts of Rockland, Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties and is home to one of the largest frum communities in the country. A former State Assemblyman, he was first elected to Congress in 2022 and is now seeking a third term.

In Congress, Lawler chairs the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa and is a member of the House Republican Israel Caucus. He is the lead sponsor of the bipartisan Antisemitism Awareness Act.

On Tuesday, November 3, Lawler faces Democrat Cait Conley in a race rated a toss-up.
