Bruce Blakeman Visits the Rebbe’s Ohel Ahead of Final Week of Governor Campaign

Bruce Blakeman, the Jewish Nassau County Executive and Republican candidate for Governor of New York, spent Friday morning visiting the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, accompanied by Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, Shliach of the Five Towns.
During his visit, Blakeman put on Tefillin, wrote a Pan, and entered the Rebbe’s Ohel, where he spent a few quiet moments davening.
Blakeman is currently serving his second term as Nassau County Executive, a position he first won in 2021 and retained in the 2025 election. He is now seeking to become New York’s next governor, challenging incumbent Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul in the November 3 election.
His gubernatorial campaign has centered on three major themes: public safety, lowering taxes and making New York more affordable. Blakeman has frequently criticized the Hochul administration over the rising cost of living, high taxes, utility bills and crime, arguing that New York needs a change in direction.
Among his major campaign proposals is eliminating state income taxes on the first $50,000 earned by single filers and the first $100,000 earned by married couples filing jointly. He has also proposed reducing energy costs, expanding support for law enforcement and revisiting several criminal justice policies, including bail reform.
On energy, Blakeman has advocated for expanding natural gas production in New York, including reversing the state's fracking ban, arguing that increased energy supply could help lower utility costs. He has also called for greater local control over development projects, including large-scale data centers.
He concluded his visit with a special message to the Chabad community about his campaign for Governor, as the race enters its final days ahead of Election Day on November 3.
